Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! Give us a call at 615-538-7111 to find an appointment time that works well for you. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have.
Do you work with Children/Teens/Couples?
No, the focus of my work is individual counseling for adults, ages 18 and older.
What modes of therapy are available?
We are available to do sessions in my office, over the phone, or video. It all depends on what your particular needs are and what you’re comfortable doing.
Do you take insurance or provide a superbill?
No, because we feel there are too many drawbacks for clients using insurance for counseling. You lose choice, autonomy, and you MUST be diagnosed with a mental disorder which tends to stay on your permanent medical record. We work for you, NOT the insurance company. This also allows us to protect your information better than if we had to share it with different companies and (potentially) your employer. Our client’s prefer this level of confidentiality. If you have further questions about this, give us a call. It may be in your best interest to consider not using your insurance.
What about payments and session length?
You can pay for your sessions with the usual credit card, but counseling is also covered by Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flex Spending Accounts (FSA). For standard individual counseling sessions, sessions are 55 minutes in length. For consulting work, please call our office so we can discuss your needs further.
Can you prescribe medication?
NO, only a psychiatrist (someone with an M.D.) can prescribe medication.
Do you offer anger management classes?
No, anger management is worked on in individual counseling sessions.
